Finding a Guide for Your Charley Harper Canvas

Those wonderful Charley Harper canvases (currently distributed by The Meredith Collection) have stitch guides written by a lot of people.   Do a search using the search box in the upper left corner to help find if your canvas has a guide.

Then head to Robin King's blog and check her list of guides available for Charley's work.  She's done more guides for his things than anyone else.  This list was updated June 2019, so also do a search on the home page of Robin's blog to see if new items have been added to her inventory.

New Stitch Guide Policies at Ridgewood Needlepoint

Ridgewood Needlepoint is changing the stitch guides they offer as a service work in their shop, effective January 2020.  According to the shop's email on the topic, they will offer:

Basic Stitch Suggestions - "Need assistance with picking out a few stitches for your new canvas? Receive 10% off of your thread purchase if we kit your project. We will provide you with 2-3 stitch suggestions from Stitches to Go. If you don’t own the book, we have them in stock for you to purchase. There will be no additional charge for these stitch suggestions.  Should you bring in a canvas and threads purchased from another shop there will be a $20 charge for our Staff member to assist you in choosing stitches for a few sections."

Basic Plus Stitch Suggestions - "Need assistance with choosing stitches for your entire new canvas? Receive 10% off of your thread purchase if we kit your project. Our Staff member will make a copy of the canvas and write the stitches & threads on the photocopy. All stitch suggestions will be made from Stitches to Go.  If the shop is busy you may need to leave your canvas for a few days. The prices for this are as follows: ornaments beginning at $25, medium canvases beginning at $30, large canvases beginning at $50 and extra-large canvases beginning at $75."

Intermediate Stitch Guides - "If you would like a more extensive guide and we kit your project, we will provide you with a photocopy of the canvas with stitches and threads noted on it. In addition, you will receive separate sheet with diagrams of the stitches. You will receive 10% off of your threads. You will need to allow a week or more depending on the size of your canvas. Please advise our Staff member what type of threads you like and if you like to work with beads, ribbons or other embellishments.  The prices for this are as follows: ornaments beginning at $50, medium canvases beginning at $75 and larger canvases beginning at $100."

Advanced Stitch Guides - "If you would like a full stitch guide, we will provide you with a typed stitch guide and stitches graphed out. If we kit your project you will receive 15% off of your threads. The price for Advanced guides begins at $75 and will vary depending upon the size of your canvas.  Please advise our Staff member what type of threads you like and if you like to work with beads, ribbons or other embellishments. You must advise us as to how much time you want us to work on this. You will need to give us 1 to 2 weeks for this."
