Alice Peterson's Bookshelf Series (Cookbooks, Childrens' Books, and Classic Books) UPDATED

Ridgewood Needlepoint just announced Stephanie Dresher-Mandelbaum is working on a stitch guide for Alice Peterson's new "Cookbooks" canvas.  Here's a photograph of it I found online.

The guide is free if you buy the threads from the shop or $20 if you only want the guide.  Of course Ridgewood can get you the canvas, too.    Just talk to the shop for help.

UPDATE:  Enriched Stitch has Mary Ellen Kearns Winnicki's stitch guide for this canvas also.  $40 according to this Facebook posting.

UPDATE #2:  Apparently Amy Bunger (Amy's Golden Strand) and Eva Donnelley at A Stitch in Time have done guides for this canvas.  Stitch By Stitch Larchmont has one for the 13 count version. This is Amy's version.

UPDATE #3:  Amy Bunger is also working on guides for the "Children's Books" and "Classic Books" versions of this design

UPDATE #4:  Stephanie is also working on the kids book version of this series.  The guide is free if you buy the threads from the shop or $30 if you only want the guide.  Of course Ridgewood can get you the canvas, too.    Just talk to the shop for help.

UPDATE #4A:  Stephanie just finished the Fashion Books.  Talk to Ridgewood.

UPDATE #5:  Robin King will prepare a stitch guide for the Classic Books for a class in February 2018.  Her guide will be available after that.

UPDATE #6:  Suzie Vallerie at Enriched Stitch has a guide for the Classic Books canvas.

UPDATE #7:  Pat Miller of the Needleart Nut has done a guide for the new Fashion Books canvas.

UPDATE #8:  Osterville Needlepoint is doing guide (written by Elaine) for an Alice Peterson book club.  This is the kids' books one.

This is the adult classic books shelf by Osterville.

And this is the Christmas book shelf from Osterville.

Bitch Free Guide Available

The Bitch Canvas Done!
After I finished blog-stitching Bloomin' Stitches' wonderfully cheeky design "Bitch," I wrote up the stitch guide and it is now available for free as a PDF file.

If you are interested, email me at and ask.  This canvas comes in many color variations but if you have other colors, you can easily substitute a red Kreinik for a purple I used, etc. Hopefully the ideas I used for my lettering will also translate to other sayings canvases, too, so if you need ideas….

By the way, Pat Miller has done a guide for her version of this fun piece.  Here it is made up as a pillow.

I don't see it listed on her blog but ask her about it if you are interested.
