Stitch Guides from Fireside Stitchery UPDATED

As you probably know, Fireside Stitchery in Pennsylvania will do a free stitch guide for you if you buy the threads called for in the guide from them.  Buying the canvas is optional.  They've updated their website with the guides they've written already listed.  Of course they will happily do a guide that's not on this list but if you are in a hurry to get started, it's nice if they have that guide finished already.  Note that some of the guides are hand written and some are typed and all refer to stitches from Jo I. Christensen's Needlepoint Book.  If they want you to use a stitch not diagrammed in Jo's book, they will add that diagram to the guide.

UPDATE:  Fireside does an espcially nice job with Tapestry Tent stockings from Susan Roberts.  Two examples here--

Stitch Suggestions from Fireside

Fireside Stitchery has updated their website with a list of "stitch suggestions" available for purchase.  It looks like you have to buy the threads and embellishments kit plus the stitch suggestions as a package.  The canvases are available for purchase separately.  There is a good variety of canvases from many designers available with their guides.

The shop also has a listing of the guides they've already written.  Browse to see if the guide (hand written or typed) is already done.

Guides for No Name Chicken UPDATED

No Name Chicken, Courtesy of Fireside
Canvas Works has a design of a white rooster that is mostly feathers called the No Name Chicken.  It has been quite popular and folks are always looking for guides for it.  I'm told that Fireside Stitchery has a guide.  I don't know if it is one of the guides they write if you buy a canvas and threads or if they already have it written.  Search on "no name chicken" for information about the canvas.
http://www.firesidestitchery.com

I'm also told Tony Minieri has written a guide for this piece that uses ribbon for the coxcomb.  You will need to contact him through Edwardian Needle.

Many thanks to the kind people on the ANG email list for all these answers!

UPDATE:  Robin King will have a guide for the No Name Chicken canvas in mid-September 2014.  Thanks for reminding me to update this, Kirsten!

Patty Paints Nutcrackers

The designer Patty Paints has a wonderful series of monthly nutcrackers, each with their own stitch guide.  I stumbled across them on the Fireside Stitchery website.  The series starts at the link below and continues on the next page.  (By the way, Fireside changes around their pages a lot so if this link doesn't work, try a search for Patty Paints designs, then look through all the results.)

The nutcrackers are also on the Patty Paints website.  Click on the thumbnail photos to see a larger photo of each stitched.
