Just in time for Halloween at Saturnalia Stitching, Abby has two new stitch guides available. The first is for Saturnalia's "Grimoires and Goodies" book shop...
These are digital downloads and you only have 24 hours after purchase to download each. Keep the order number in case you can't get to the download for some reason and they'll help with the vanishing link.
This is a JudyAnn design, available on her website and her Etsy shop. Lynn will have the stitch guide ready on her Handmade on the Hill Etsy shop shortly.
The canvas is available from Colonial Needle* and the guide from Ruth's shop, Bedecked and Beadazzled.
*However, this design was a shop exclusive at one time. I'm not sure if it still is, but you can get the canvas, guide and thread kit from Bedecked and Beadazzled if your shop can't order it from Colonial.
Strictly Christmas isn't just Christmas-themed designs any more, as Kristal proves with her version of "Brown Bunny." Stitched using Ruth Schmuff's stitch guide.
You can get a good look at Scarlett stitched and/or buy the canvas from Moore Stitching via their website. Note that this is a printed canvas. I've stitched one of her pieces and found the printing to be very good.
I didn't realize that Susan Portra and Tony Minieri were the first to do stitch guides for painted canvases until Amy Bunger told me. I've done a little hunting and found two of Susan's guides on eBay. This is "Old Saint Nick" from Cheryl Schaeffer, dated 1992.
This is Damarj's "The Stitcher." Unfortunately, the date is cut off. Note how Susan changed the stitching from linen in a hoop to a needlepoint canvas with a geometric pattern.
The Wool and the Floss has posted photos of four cute ghosts from The Collection Designs. The shop has guides for all four: "Ghost Hat," "Ghost with Glasses," "Ghost Holding Pumpkin," and "Ghost Flowers and Pumpkin."
Lynn of Needlepoint by Sharese has a new stitch guide for the "Christian D" nutcracker from Rachel Barri Designs. You can buy a copy through the Needlepoint by Sharese Etsy shop. (It comes with an embellishment package, too.)
If you are interested in learning stump work, you might want to pick up Kelly Clark's Sweet Pea Sampler which comes with a guide by Kelly herself to ease you into dimensional stitching.
Noni did a lovely job choosing threads for this Beth Hunt candle canvas. I think there was a candle for each month with an Amy Bunger guide available. The guide is quite old so Noni picked out all new threads instead of using ones from the guide that are no longer available.
Pam's rowboats canvas is finished. This was stitched using a Tony Minieri design. Pam says this is from a Catherine Breen painting and that the canvas is available from The Meredith Collection.
Stitch by Stitch in Larchmont, NY has two new stitch guides from Mary Ellen Winnicki. The first is for Alice Peterson's "Sunray Mountain" and the second for Kristine Kingston's 3-D "Halloween Pumpkin."
Needle in a Haystack says that the Betty Loves Bubbles series of ornaments from Gingham Stitchery all come with stitch guides which you access through a QR code!
This is a design by Amanda Lawford and can be ordered from Vallerie Needlepoint Gallery, which owns the Amanda Lawford line. Barbara's Needlepoint can provide you with the guide.
Kelly Clark has a new pink flamingo design that she's doing a stitch guide for. She'll be teaching it at Bedecked and Beadazzled this summer and you'll be able to buy the canvas and guide then.
The charming raccoon thief piece that Holly stitched is a Charley Harper design, available from Meredith Collection, with a guide by Marina at Fireside Stitchery.
One of Ruth Schmuff's students stitched the amazing "Birds!" from Helen Heins Peterson, who is one of the Bedecked and Beadazzled designers. I particularly like all the details, from the hearts in the background to the fun touches on each of the eight (?) birds, the fish and the sun.
Normally I don't link to guides unless you can get an idea of the finished product but I thought you'd like to see the cover and the thread list in Mary's guide.
Karen's Easter March from Ashley Dillion-Davis (now owned by Victoria Whitson) is finished. This cute design was stitched using a guide from Michele Herron of Bristly Thistle in Florida.
This is an Eleanor Grosch design, available from Ruth Schmuff's shop, Bedecked and Beadazzled. Ruth did the stitch guide for it. I believe the guide comes with the canvas but you can check with the shop to be certain.
Ridgewood Stitchery has started showcasing a canvas from their stock with a free short stitch guide to get your creativity going. The first canvas is Kate Dickerson's "Santa Boots with Candy Canes."
It's not an elaborate guide but it is enough to get you started. I hope they continue to profile canvases this way. It's a lovely service for stitchers.
This is a canvas from Assocated Talents which can be ordered from Needlepoint.com which owns the line now. The stitch guide is by Terry Christopher Castillo.
Melita Galvin shows off the Mindy heart that Meghan from her Main Line Stitchers Chapter of ANG stitched. Meghan did a stitch guide (which I think is in the latest Needle Pointers) and Melita helped with stitch diagrams.
Ruth Schmuff shows off two versions of David Galchutt's "Revolt," stitched by two people who took the class about this she offered in her shop, Bedecked and Beadazzled.
Ada Hayden of Eye Candy shows off the version of her "Birds and Blooms" stitched at Enriched Stitch, which has a stitch guide available. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFprh0jxDBM/
